"As cinema loving Londoners, we'd grown disenchanted with the lack of access to black and multicultural films either through mainstream or pop up cinemas. Our ambition with Block Party Cinema is to help rejuvenate, and make these films even more accessible, whilst adding our own special ingredients to the mix. Community spirit has always been the soul of the best block parties and that's the feeling we've harnessed to create this unique cinema experience."

Reece

Favourite film
Malcolm X - This has to go straight to the top for me as it's probably the most powerful film I've ever seen. I still remember the emotions from when I first saw it as a teenager.

Favourite music album
Complex Simplicity (Teedra Moses) - Tough choice! Probably my favourite ever at the time of writing. Every track is a banger and the album has great staying power after all these years.

Favourite movie character
Joe Pesci as 'Nicky' (Casino) - Easy one. It has to be Joe Pesci's character in Casino. Dude was baddd!

David

Favourite film
Enter The Dragon - I was torn between this and 'Black Dynamite' (funniest film ever!). Enter The Dragon was the first Bruce Lee / Martial Arts film I saw and since then I've been hooked! Amazing movie.

Favourite music album
Baduizm (Erykah Badu) - I thought I had heard the greatest of music albums before I first heard Baduizm. Probably the most creative album I've heard, by my favourite music artist. This album is art. A masterpiece.

Favourite movie character
Laurence Fishburne as 'Morpheus' (The Matrix) - Class acting by Fishburne as the dreamer and inspirational leader, Morpheus. I love Morpheus' optimistic nature and his dedication to the protection of Zion.

Carl

Favourite film
The Godfather: Part II - I'm a massive fan of classic mafia movies but this plot had me on the edge of my seat. You get a real in depth knowledge of the characters which keeps you locked.

Favourite music album
Reasonable Doubt (Jay Z) - You can hear the hunger in his lyrics. This was probably the first album where I had to listen to one verse, three times just to understand the wordplay. Still sets the tone on what a great rap album should sound like.

Favourite movie character
Heath Ledger as 'Joker' (The Dark Knight) - Just wow, his spin on the character will not, in fact, cannot be forgotten. EPIC!

Rob

Favourite film
Trading Places - Too funny, set at Christmas and it's a great come up story. What more do you want!?

Favourite music album
Aijuswanaseing (Musiq Soulchild) - I still listen to Mary Go Round on a daily basis. I do have an honourable mention to 'Channel Orange' - Frank Ocean..

Favourite movie character
Idris Elba as 'Stringer Bell' (The Wire) - This is a bit left field, due to the fact he's a villain and not from a film. Cool, calm and calculated, until the end of course...

Lance

Favourite film
Independence Day - I think I know every word to this film. Action from the beginning to the end! Plus I've always been a fan of Will Smith.

Favourite music album
Confessions (Usher) - Absolute bangers all the way through. I can listen to this album on repeat trying to hit the highest of notes!

Favourite movie character
Tobey Maguire as 'Spider-Man' (Spider-Man) - Influenced by my older brother, Spider-Man is the best superhero ever! I mean, who has the most enemies and still comes out on top each time?
